Ferret Nation & Critter Nation Replacement Pan
Plastic is not chinchilla safe! Unfortunately, the Midwest Ferret Nation cage and Critter Nation cage are loaded with it.
As a Small Animal Guardian, it's up to you to prevent your chinchilla or other small animal from getting to that plastic.Â
Chinchillas and other small animals tend to chew on them and in the worst-case scenario, it can prove to be fatal. It's best to solve the problem now vs spend money and pain later with a veterinary visit.Â

The original plastic pans should be covered or replaced before introducing your chinchilla or another small animal.
Our replacement pans are 34 1/2" x 22 1/2" steel and fit models 36" x 24" and 36" x 25".

Each tray is 3" deep.

Our metal pans are handmade by us in Austin, Texas from galvanized 26ga steel. With the option of 24ga Stainless Steel and powder-coated colors. The trays are spot welded at their seams.

Which option should you choose?
If this is for high ammonia-producing animals like rats or rabbits. Then definitely go for the powder coating option.
If it's for low-producing like chinchillas or hedgehogs, then galvanized will be just fine.
Galvanized is protected from rust but still does over a long period of time depending on the environment it's in. Typically we see a life of 3-7 years.
Powdercoated enhances that further.
Stainless will last forever :)

Came it little later than expected but it looks absolutely amazing!!!

I ordered two stainless steel trays for my Ferret Nation cage (bottom pan and cutout) on May 26th and it finally arrived August 10th. It is great quality and I love them, just wish I knew it was going to take almost 3 months. It wasn’t until I notified Shopify, that they were shipped. I also sent multiple emails. The only one he replied to was in the beginning about his back being injured and that he could upgrade. Wish there was better communication. So glad to finally have them though!

Absolutely worth the small investment ! Processing time and shipping took the full time frame they gave but it was well worth the wait! Communication was fast as well when I had any questions ! My floors are now relatively bedding free and me and my chin couldn’t be happier ! Shipping was fast and the item came in perfectly! Thanks so much !!

I absolutely love the color and perfect fit of the pan. It gives more floor space than the plastic tray covered in fleece I was using. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the processing time is not accurate. It says 10-20 days (it did not specify business days). It ended up being well over 20 days, and about 22 business days. For the extended processing times, I expected it to ship on time. I will still order again, but hope to see either processing times adjusted or changes made to get things out on time.

Hey there! If you're a soft-hearted fur-daddy like me, you know how important it is to keep your fur-babies safe. That's why I highly recommend purchasing these steel replacement pans from Quality Cage Crafters! We like them so much that we have even ordered some teal ones for the small platforms!
While contacting the company can be a bit challenging, and the turnaround times can be long, the quality of the craftsmanship is OUTSTANDING and evident in EVERY detail of the product. My little squeakers SAFELY climb and jump over the ROLLED edges, and my children are MUCH happier with how much easier they are to clean. NO MORE chewed-up plastic trays or felt covers, and NO MORE worries about my pets' health!
I attached some pictures to show you the difference between the chewed-up plastic trays and the metal pans. BELIEVE me, it is night and day! The stainless steel pans are a FANTASTIC investment for your pets and will last you a LONG time. We've combined them with a couple of the Chin Spin 15" Chinchilla Wheels, also by Quality Cage Crafters, to have a chew-resistant cage setup that should EASILY outlast the 5-8 years my degus are expected to live!
